As a recent graduate of The University of Tennessee Knoxville’s Theatre department, Jess has had the privilege of working on productions such as A Christmas Carol, The Madwoman of Chaillot, the world premiere of People Where They Are, and She Kills Monsters to name a few. She studied movement at L’École internationale de théâtre in Paris from 2017-2018, and received her BFA in Acting from SMU in 2008. She has previously held staff positions at the Lincoln Playhouse in Nebraska, Cry Havoc Theater Company in Dallas and Theatre for a New Audience in New York City. He made his Knoxville acting debut in Clarence Brown Theatre’s A Christmas Carol. Between pursuing his degrees Joshua spent two years living and working for a humanitarian aid organization outside of Paris, France. He also holds a BA in Theatre from Oklahoma Baptist University. Joshua received his MFA in Acting from Southern Methodist University in Dallas. Prior to moving to Knoxville, Joshua served as the Artistic Director of Firebone Theatre Company in New York City. Joshua Peterson (Director) is a Texas transplant via Paris and New York but is now proud to claim Knoxville as his home. In 1998, a fisherman found a bracelet with his name and his wife's name engraved on it, 150 kilometers west of Marseilles. Antoine de Saint-Exupery took off on a flight over Southern France on Jand was never seen again. That same year he published The Little Prince, a children's story of such universal appeal that it has been translated into close to fifty languages. He came to the United States after France fell in World War II, but rejoined the French Air Force in North Africa in 1943. His book, Wind, Sand and Stars won the French Academy's 1939 Grand Prix du Roman and the National Book Award in the United States. He was also working as a foreign correspondent covering May Day events in Moscow and writing a series on the Spanish Civil War. By that time, de Saint-Exupery was married to Consuelo Gomez Castillo and was working as a test pilot for Air France. His second novel, Night Flight, became an international bestseller and was made into a film in 1933. His route over North Africa was the basis for his first novel, Southern Mail, in 1929. He received his pilot's license in 1922 and, after a few dead end jobs as a bookkeeper and an automobile salesman, he began flying mail for a commercial airline company. de Saint-Exupery began his military service in 1921 and was sent to Strasbourgh to be trained as a pilot. He later attended a Catholic boarding school in Switzerland before entering the Ecole de Beaux-Arts as an architecture student. Saint-Exupery was educated in Jesuit schools.
